SLV Productions: Elevating Amarillo’s Live Music Scene

In just two years, SLV Productions has grown from a side hustle with small PA systems into one of the most trusted names in live event production across Amarillo and the surrounding Tri-State region, including West Texas, Colorado, and New Mexico. Co-founded by Erick Steinmaier and Nate Brown, the company blends technical expertise with a deep love for live music, offering everything from high-end sound and lighting to permanent AV installations and stage design.

From Benefit Shows to Big Stages

The story of SLV began when Erick, a former musician and sound tech who moved to Texas from Chicago, met Nate, a seasoned touring rigger and lighting technician with 28 years in installation and production. After teaming up for a local benefit show, the two quickly realized their shared passion and complementary skills could be the foundation for something greater. That partnership became SLV Productions, short for Sound, Light, and Video, with a mission to serve all genres and event sizes without limits.

We didn’t want to pigeonhole ourselves into one style of music. We wanted to be able to do EDM one night and metal the next.

Since those early days, when making rent on their storage space was a struggle, SLV has quadrupled their gear inventory, tripled their yearly revenue, and earned a solid reputation as a reliable and resourceful production partner. Erick brings an engineer’s mind to every project, using computer modeling to shape soundscapes in advance, while Nate draws from his touring background to fine-tune each production with precision.

From intimate EDM nights in small bars to massive outdoor stages for major acts, SLV covers the full spectrum of live events. They’ve handled tech for venues like The Rockwell Event Center, The Lumberyard’s Hoover Stage, supported the Amarillo Pride Festival with a full rig including LED wall trailer, and even provided systems for drift racing events and remote corporate parties.

In addition to mobile production, SLV also specializes in AV installations for churches and venues, particularly excelling in automation and media programming. Their custom solutions reflect a deeper understanding of both user experience and long-term tech reliability.

Collaboration Over Competition

While they’ve supported national acts like Upon a Burning Body and spearheaded festival setups like Rocktober, Erick and Nate emphasize treating every artist and client with the same level of respect.  "We work with everyone from someone starting out to someone who’s at the top of the food chain.” Erick said.

This commitment to quality and attitude has built long-term relationships across the Texas Panhandle. "We’ve had so many great events, and we truly enjoy doing what we do," Nate added. "You get to meet your heroes, discover new bands, and hear what your mix sounds like in a big room. That’s the reward."

Looking Ahead

The future is big and bright for SLV Productions. The team plans to double the size of their flagship sound system and expand their already-impressive stage footprint. But beyond gear, they’re focused on growing Amarillo’s live music community. "We want to improve the quality of shows around here and make people excited to come out again," Erick said.

The bigger and better the shows we put on, the more it inspires new talent, supports venues, and brings the community together. That’s what it’s all about.
